The Second Time Around
Beverly Sweigart, the producer and promoter of Palm Springs CRAVE events is back in town for the second time. She first lived in Palm Springs in the late 70’s where she celebrated her 21st birthday. While here, she translated her love of dancing and meeting people to working as a deejay and bartender.
Fast forward to 2015 and Beverly is back in the desert both older and wiser – having spent the intermittent years as an executive in a Fortune 500 company. However, in spite of her busy corporate life style that kept her moving around the country, she never stopped doing what she liked most – creating a space where she could dance and meet new people. When she moved from L.A. – her home town – to the East Coast, she started producing gay parties in various cities – from New York to Philly. By the time she returned to Palm Springs, Beverly was a seasoned producer ready to add her touch to the women’s scene here.
Beverly produces two of the Valley’s most popular events here in Palm Springs. One – The Players Golf Tournament – which for years was called The Linashore. This event happens over the Dinah Shore Weekend and this year the name will change to the Palm Springs Crave Golf Tournament. For more information about this event: https://www.palmspringscrave.com.
Her second very popular events are dances for charity fundraisers held on the patio at Wang’s. These dance parties donate all the proceeds to an LGBTQ Charity. The L-Fund has been the recipient of the proceeds from these events on more than one occasion. Beverly produces these parties with her own money and gives 100% of the take to the designated non-profit. She feels a great deal of satisfaction in helping non-profits fulfill their missions.
Beverly is passionate about helping the Lesbian community in the Valley grow and develop a strong presence. Her personal motto for women is, “Strength in Numbers.” She has already reserved a space in the 2019 Pride Parade for lesbians to march together under that banner.
Beverly Sweigart is another woman with a mission to make this a place for women to thrive and grow and to support one another. Welcome Back.
